What the workbook contains
- 01Goals and foundation. Worksheets for monthly cash flow, the emergency fund target, debt, and the amount available to invest each month.
- 02Allocation. A template for dividing capital between equities, bonds, and cash by time horizon, with a rebalancing schedule.
- 03Company analysis. The structure Felix Prehn uses: business model, financial quality, valuation, catalysts, and risks, as a one page template per company.
- 04Position sizing and risk. Rules for maximum position size, maximum loss per position, and portfolio level limits, with a calculator worksheet.
- 05The trading plan. Entry conditions, exit conditions, and management rules written before a trade, with a section for options strategies.
- 06The review log. A record of every decision and its outcome, with prompts for the quarterly review.
How to use it
Work through the sections in order. The first two can be completed in an evening and give most of the benefit, because they fix the decisions that determine long term results. The company analysis and trading plan sections are used repeatedly, one sheet per decision. The review log is the section that most people skip and the one that most improves results over time.
The written guides on this site, particularly investing basics, how to invest in stocks, and the 4 key steps to build wealth, explain the reasoning behind each worksheet. The Wall Street Protocol teaches the full method the workbook is drawn from. The covered calls workbook is a companion for the options section.
The workbook is educational. Completing it does not guarantee any outcome, and all investing carries risk including the loss of capital.
