10 years ago I collapsed from overworking myself…
I was putting in long hours at my corporate job, pushing myself hard at the gym, and not giving my body enough rest.
At the time, I didn’t know why I collapsed, but it turned out that I had a disc hernia and my back just gave out.
I couldn’t get up by myself, let alone stand, and it was terrifying.
I was too young to have these kinds of problems.
Thankfully I had friends who could take me to a physiotherapist.
But when I got there they immediately told me I had to go to the hospital and called an ambulance for me.
When I arrived, I was told I had to get surgery as soon as possible.
Problem was, it was going to cost $50,000 USD and they told me I had just hours to decide so they could operate on me the next day.
Now I was even more scared.
I couldn’t possibly afford to pay that much without going into major debt…
And I didn’t know when I’d be able to go back to work so I could earn money to pay my bills.
Yes… despite the excruciating pain I felt in my back and the stress of needing an expensive surgery…
I still thought about the bills that were quickly piling up.
Somehow I negotiated out of doing the surgery and instead opted for steroid injections to help with the pain.
But I still had to stay at the hospital for 6 nights which was an absolute disaster for me.
I had to work.
I had meetings to attend, staff to manage, and animals to look after at home so the stress kept piling on.
Luckily, after 6 days I was released and able to go home, but even then I was bedridden for 2 weeks.
My girlfriend decided to hire a pilates coach so I could develop and heal my back to avoid surgery.
And after a while, I was able to do exactly that.
Since then, I committed to changing my life so I’d never get caught in this situation again.
I wasn't able to work so I couldn’t make money, but the bills kept coming in regardless.
Office bills, health bills, staff bills, animal bills, you name it.
This disc hernia completely wrecked me because I was only relying on one income stream.
And since I knew how to trade options because of my time on the trading floor, I decided to start doing it myself to create an extra stream of income to protect myself, my business, and my family.
That’s why I teach everyday people to do the same.
